Grizzly Bear Reference Books

Grizzly Bears:  An Illustrated Field Guide.  John A. Murray (*****)  While John Murray is not as formally trained as many of the others who have written about Grizzlies and their biology, he has spent many years in the field observing them.  And as a professional nature writer he is able to put his observations together in a usable form.  This book had more solid information on the Alaskan Grizzlies than any other I've read.

Field Guide to the Grizzly Bear.  Lance Olsen (****)  This pocket guide doesn't have the extensive stories of John Murray's book, but its 46 pages are packed with detailed factual information about Grizzlies.

Alaska's Bears.  Bill Sherwonit, Photos by Tom Walker (***) Excellent quick read with many important and interesting facts about Alaskan bears, including of course the Grizzly.
