Join us for a B&H Photo Walk through the Bronx Zoo in June

Meerkats, Jack's Camp, BotswanaI’m really happy to say that I’ll be leading a photo walk for B&H through the Bronx Zoo in New York on Thursday, June 7th. The event is free, but you do need to pay for your Zoo admission. For those of you in or around the New York area its about the easiest way to get some practice in on your wildlife photography. Open to photographers of all ages and all amounts of gear! You can register for the event online with B&H. Lorrie and I hope to see you there!

About the Event (from the B&H event description):

Join veteran nature and travel photographer David Cardinal for a walk on the wild side. David will lead a photo tour through the beautiful Bronx Zoo, with plenty of photo instruction and tips along the way.

Whether you are looking to brush up on your wildlife photography skills in preparation for a planned safari, or just want to enjoy some of the best animal photography opportunities anywhere in the New York area, you’ll enjoy and learn from participating.

Attendees will not only receive instruction as they walk, but a helpful handout with time-tested tips for photographing mammals and birds in a zoo setting. Some of the highlights of the tour are planned to include:

• The Zoo’s new baby giraffes (they’ll be 3 and 9 months old)
• The Zoo’s Silverback Gorilla (he is just starting to get comfortable enough to come out, so maybe we’ll get lucky)
• The Zoo’s Madagascar and Congo exhibits

One of the great things about zoo photography is that you don’t need a lot of gear. Anyone with a DSLR or even a mirrorless camera or a point and shoot with a long zoom can enjoy it -- but for best results long and fast lenses on an interchangeable lens camera are helpful.
Once you’ve registered, we’ll send you more suggestions on equipment and details on where to meet up.

Our workshop is FREE, but attendees will be responsible for their own admission fee into the Zoo, prices range from $16 for zoo only to $29.95 for an all-day pass including rides at the ticket window. http://www.bronxzoo.com/
