Unless it was $10000 or more or part of a big sting, they probably got away with it at the credit card company's expense.

Mike, the day I was at Fry's (Dec 26th) they were selling 8GB for $18.99 ea. and the sale price on the 16GB was $30 ea; no limit, coupons or anything else.

Happened to me 2 or 3 years ago, just after returning from a holiday trip in BC & the Rockies. But the fraudsters must have been real morons - they used it to pay a couple video rentals and a dinner at a restaurant before I could ask the credit card
