Great, fast service on all my Nikon bodies and lenses. If NPS member you get a discount AND expedited service. I can usually expect to send in a body and have it back a week later almost to the day.

They ain't cheap, but I think they compare pricewise to Nikon, but not timewise --MUCH faster. They not only repair what is wrong, but also clean, lube, replace lost screws, change the spark plugs, etc.

Sue--Interesting to hear about an effective service alternative to Nikon. I've been a loyal Nikon Service customer for many years and still for the most part am quite satisfied.

In particular in the first days of digital it seemed like they were the only ones with the data & tools to repair their D-SLRs.

But recently the amount they have been charging to fix lenses & bring bodies into spec seems like it has been going up substantially (perhaps not unfairly but I liked the lower charges I remember from before:-), and the totals each year are enough for me that I'd definitely consider an alternative for some things.

Other stories from other folks using non-Nikon service for digital gear?--David
