I think Flickr has taken over websites like this one.

How did Flickr take over any sites?

Sorry you're leaving (for the third time?) again Roy. Like David, I'm not sure how this site relates to Flickr. I love Flickr for sharing my portfolios with large audiences, but good luck asking a serious photographic question there and getting a well reasoned answer or two from some folks with reason to know.

David,

Considering all the help I have received from this site, you would have to throw me out on my face for me to leave.

Count me in to stay. I am here for the duration.

When I want advice from professionals that I can rely on, it's here that I come. We may be a smaller group, but the talent pool is first rate.

I think this is one of the best photography help sites on the internet. Is has been slow lately and I haven't been on much, but we all get too busy sometimes. I have enjoyed this site and I have met some great people here. And sold a lot of camera gear here.

David,,,once again you have shot from the hip?? I didn't say anything was wrong with this forum,,only that it has gone dead ,,and quite fast lately. You should know all about flickr being a member and posting on that site and they do have more Pro's on that site than any other. You just didn't spend the time searching for the right stream. Maybe because you are just using Flickr to drum up some sales for your own. Also,,I have made a lot of contacts myself and sold some of my materials on Flickr and yes they have a huge viewer base,,just what we all want for $25.00/year.
Nice try at a cheap shot,,,, 3 strikes and you are out David!!I viewed and posted on a lot of the forums here and it was fun and interesting but they are dead. Also,if you look close at some of the topics we talked about here it was you who put an end to some good ones and slammed to door shut as the moderator instead of letting us talk. How many moderators are left ?
Ask a Pro a question ?? Do you meen the answere I got from Gavin about my D2xs meter ?? Now there is a class act to have on your site. He's from down under and lives on a mountain and you asked him how our economy is ??

Billy Mitchell tried to get some talk going here as well and instead of letting everyone talk,,you ended that too ???
So it's only my opinion and not meant to degrade anything that you have going here,,I was just letting you know that like you I am now going to use Flickr.,,,,,,Roy

I don't remember anyone ending my threads. But... It is kind of slow these days. Part of that is me. I have been working a lot lately (photography) and a painting I did for the San Antonio Fiesta this year won and I have been really busy for the past eight weeks with Fiesta (the biggest party in San Antonio) and I just bought a house to remodel. My first ever fully paid for house. That is taking all my free time. The poster is on my web site and here. http://fiestastore.fiesta-sa.org/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=22

Congrats on the Fiesta win! Annie & I (for two years in a row) have prowled the Riverwalk noticing the zillion folding chairs set up for the Parade of Boats the next day but we've never actually gotten to see any of it.

FWIW, I've been to a lot of downtowns and the Riverwalk is one of the best designed features I've ever seen. Given how hot, dry and flat much of the surrounding area is, turning the inner city into an oasis of water, boats and restaurants with an architecturally interesting design was brilliant. I never tire of walking it from end to end.--David
