After reading another post, I thought I would post this as a reminder to all.

When searching a Nikon user manual for a specific item or procedure, download the PDF version of your manual from the Nikon website and do your search electronically. You will quickly find every occurrence of the word for which you search in the manual, some of which may not be listed in the manual's index, or are worded differently than you might expect in the manual's index

dan--That is an excellent point & the other advantage is if you stick it on your laptop you'll always have it with you when you travel. I try to carry most of the current Nikon (& Canon) manuals on my laptop when I lead trips as there is always some question that needs answering.--David

I agree. I have been storing manuals on my laptop for a couple of years. The Acrobat search function is great in addition to the zoom function for us old folk.

I'm glad too they finally put up a version (non-printing) you can get without a serial number. Handy when you don't have a camera body around and are on the web needing a quick answer!--David

If you register your gear with Nikon, you can always access your profile and get a serial number. FWIW

John--Absolutely and that's a great point for folks to know. But Sometimes I'm on a client's computer or in an Internet Cafe or biz center someplace trying to help someone out and just want to snag the manual. Now I can.--David
