Young Orioles it is I guess and thanks. I have another that I have searched for from last fall off and on. I've not devoted my life to find it but I have looked. I thought the wings would help in the identity of the bird. I viewed these birds only once. The next day they were gone. Anyone have any thoughts and thanks to Jim for the reply.

Attached is a picture of a Mute Swan. The bird was about to attack me or my little Yorkshire Terrier but then went off into the water.

This second picture of the swan shows it in the water. I like this picture because of the reflection in the water. The swan watched me like a hawk.

Great Pics Peter, thanks. I went on my 1st birding shooting this morning with my new D70 and my 80X400Mm Nikkor lens.

I would like to post one or two of my shots so you folks could give me some "How to Hints"

Can someone tell me where to find instructions for attaching a picture.?

namvet66,

When you create your post and click continue, there is a box that has a browse command next to it.

You need to size your pic to be no larger than 10500bytes. If you use PS size your pic to be about 600 on the longest side and set the resolution to 72dpi, convert the profile to sRGB and save for the web. When the image to be saved comes up on the screen, click the arrow to the right of the upper diaglog box and optimize to 100Kb.

Click the browse button on the posting screen and open the image file you managed and saved as noted above and then submit the post.

Hope that helps,

Jim

Here is a 6x9 in crop from a 24x36in enlargement of a D2X 400 ISO file. This female Rufus Hummer was stretching her neck to see what I was up to. Comments appreciated. hcarl

Well, after not getting much of anything lately low and behold the Red Tailed Hawk is back! I wasn't sure he would be back but he is....and he stayed in the same spot for a couple of hours. I had taken out most of my camera gear this weekend as I went on a out of town hike so all I had was my 300 f/4 lens....no flash to play with......but tomorrow who knows! This was one of the better flight shots. The D100 300 f/4 combo is not a very fast focusing system but I managed to get a few.
