It appears it wont.
"The D40 lacks wireless control and Flash Exposure lock of more expensive Nikons. If you want to uses these features, get a D80 or D200. I explain these at D80 Built-in Flash Modes."

I just wanted to add my thanks to some of the folks who provided advice in this thread. I'm doing a photo-directory for our church and had a lady express concerns to me about her weight and double-chin. Thankfully, I had read this thread!

Hi,

I'm new here but I won't be a stranger. I purchased my first D-SLR last November, a d40 and I love it. For months I used it in the auto mode pretty much all the time but recently I have begun learning more and more of the manual sett

Mine is the first name on the list for a D700 at my area camera shop. Unless I just go for a D3.
I have seen some rumblings about the D700 causing a drop in price on the D3.
B&H Photo has the D3 listed at $4819.95 FWIW

Absolutely like new, no perceptible imperfections!

This "guy" has on several instances set up a user name and posted advertisements for these products. David has been diligent in removing the posts as they crop up, for which I certainly thank him.

Also, I extend my "thanks" to the poste

I thought the D3 -was- the competition for the MK III.

As for the missing numbers in the series, who knows.

Interesting topic, Jim.
I find that a lot new photographers are wizards with photoshop, but lack basic skills like the meaning of f-stop, shutter speed, depth of field or effective composition. Just set the camera on "A" and fire away. Images

It's that way with anything that involves computers and has been.

If you don't want to get put out to pasture in a computer based industry you have to be capable of teaching the next generation. You don't have to personally teach them, but

Bokeh is subjective mostly. But there is a lot of math behind the blur. With the DC, you can take multiple photos of the same thing and have subtly different blurring either behind or in front of the subject based on the DC adjustment. I tend not to

JP-

I did some research on the 105 f2 DC and the 50 f1.4. In the reviews that I read they talked about the "bokeh". What exactly is that? Also, What are the pros and cons of the DC capabilities? I am using a Nikon D50. So my last ques

Jump to new posts DP4 New User Wizard by Mike Buckley     Yesterday at 06:56 PM

I downloaded and installed DP4 using the "try it out" icon. The "Getting Started" PDF refers to a New Users Wizard, but I'll be darned if I can find it. If it is there, it would be a good idea to add information to the PDF showing where to find it.

I have used NX for some time only because I was convinced that Nikon still had some secrets relative to their Raw conversions but I was never really impressed with the program. NX2 seems like a significant upgrade (worth $100? - I think steep - but

The question that begs to be asked, Where is the D400, D500 & D600? I assume the D700 is "full frame" like the D3?

Where is Nikon headed? No more Dx cameras? Focus on prosumer cameras? No D3x (or D4) to compete with the 1Ds MK III?

There are a bunch of choices. I like the 105 f2 DC or the 50 1.4
They both do a great job in the f2-2.8 range indoor, and f2-5.6 range outdoor for eliminating the background.

Eliminating background with 50 1.4 lens.

Wow!! I have to say that is a great shot. I would suggest doing a little cropping from the bottom portion of the photo. Also, on the right side, I don't know if it is something on the flower petal, or if it is in the lense
