I see a lot of our beautiful feathered friends posted at different locations. It would make sense to me to clump birds in one location; therefore, I am proposing this thread as a location to post photographs of birds.
I will start the thread with a picture of a Blue Jay that I got this morning in my backyard. Whenever I feed the squirrels the blue jays manage to get their share too.

Good idea, Peter.
And you started with a very nice image.

I started my Alligator-Farm-Season today. Which means; you will see a lot of bird images
in the near future. Today my favorite is a Roseate Spoonbill. The light is a little bit
harsh, which comes from being to late to the Farm.

Nikon D1x ( Yeah, Woody, Dave, I finally go it) 500mm f/4 AF-S II

Keep shooting

Very nice! The light showing through the feathers really makes the image.

I am looking forward of getting down to the Gatorland Rookery. Your images make want to go now but it will be the end of the month before I can get free.

Thanks Russ. Yes you have to go. There is just one nest with babys at the moment.
When you go there will be plenty.

Thanks Woody. That is some red which you have in your image. Nice work.

Nice work too, Mark. Looks like a Red-bellied Woodpecker.

I took the attached image of the Green Heron at this morning.

Keep shooting guys.

And for the one who have not been in the Alligator Farm in St.Augustine yet.
Here is a shot with my friends 10mm lens.
Which I had to ND in PS. Because the latitude was already to high.
I hope it is not to bad. I am still working on it.

Very nice perspective on the alligator farm shot. Its neat sometimes to be on the opposite end of the spectrum than having the tight angles from a telephoto. Here is a shot of a Roseatte Spoonbill from last year. Will be getting some new shots soon.
