Here is a "bouquetin" from the French Alps, shot last February. As they are no longer hunted, they tend to be quite unafraid of man now. This shot was taken with a 300 mm, but this male and his fellow on the next picture passed by me at about 3 yards and I had to switch to the 24-120 mm.

Michael, great picture of the Ibex. I used to see them in the Alps in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. They are beautiful animals!
Attached is a picture of a Red Squirrel, Tamiasciurus hudsonicus. This picture was taken while hikeng up Mt Le Conte in the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. I didn't see a bear - just a red squirrel!

Here is a mother hippo with a baby just behind her head. She is not yawning but warning us to stay away from the baby.
